hey FFFers! I’m super excited to share this cover with you. But let me preface it with an experience I had at a writers conference. I was attending a mentoring clinic, so there were only a few of us squirred away with the teacher. No one new could come in, as we were working on our WIPs (work in progress).

One of the attendees was African American. Her story was soooo good! But as we talked about marketing, she shared with us that publishers don’t put black characters on the cover, as that would not be good for sales. Even if the main character was black.

I said, “What? Black people don’t read novels??”

We were all astonished and outraged!

I’m so happy to report that was several years ago, and things have changed some. I’m hoping for more good changes in the future.
